AREA District probation board refunds money The Texas Juvenile Probation Commission said in a press release the 97th Judicial District Juvenile Probation Board has agreed to refund $15,066.60 in state grant funds to the TJPC. The release said the probation board and the TJPC resolved all audit findings related to the special limited scope audit conducted in October. The grant money to be refunded was shown by the audit to be unallowable expenditures during the five year period covered by the audit.

The release also said there were no findings of criminal misconduct related to the use of state grant funds. It said the probation board, with the assistance of the TJPC, will review the juvenile probation department's current fiscal policy and procedures related to state grant funds and will be implementing changes to ensure expenditures are allowable and properly documented in the future. Archer County Judge Paul Wylie, chair of the 97th Judicial District Juvenile Probation Board, said many of the changes are going to be made part of contracts for grants in upcoming years. He said he did not foresee any problems in implementing and following those changes. CLAY CO.
