I’ve been a member of both boards for years. Hopefully the BWI board closing will give Audibles a shot in the arm.

I posted here prior to being more active on the McAndrew Board. Things started to slow down here and I spent most of my time over there. I'm back I guess.

That board was full of folks that wouldn't accept the possibility of PSU administrators' guilt during the scandal. They banned anyone that suggested otherwise. Guess they all stopped using the site given the pleas and conviction and now have to shut down.

It went beyond that, Jake. The Rivals board is (I am using present tense because it hasn't been taken down yet) full of longtime posters who developed personal relationships with one another. They shared information about their families, their vacations, etc. It was a little too inbred and incestuous for my tastes. Posters on this board like to stick to PSU athletics, and I hope the influx of new posters will not change the character of Audibles.

LOL! That’s a complete BS statement. But if you want to believe that conspiracy theory, just leave your tin hat on keep on believing it.
Also there was never a war between the two boards as far as I know. Maybe an undeclared war between a couple of posters that is unknown to me. A lot of the McAndrew board people visited and posted on both boards, but the discussions on Audibles really started diminishing and many just decided to post on the other site. Both boards have their share of looney posters, but that’s what makes it entertaining for a lot of us. When it becomes a back and forth insult fest that goes nowhere, I just stop reading the thread.

It's obvious that you've spent some time on this board, BigOH, because you have more than 1,000 posts. You didn't rack up that many just dropping in from time to time. In Jake's defense, I found the Rivals board to be more strident than this one on matters pertaining to Sandusky and Paterno. I don't think that is subject to debate, though Jake's thesis may be, in his characteristic fashion, a bit over the top.

Used to post and visit both. Abandoned TOS once and for all due to scandal trash.
Audibles was bad; they were worse. Also, TOS had way more non-football threads.
Wasn’t interested.
