I’ve always loved the fact that in the Spring and Summer (and even early Autumn) Zurich is so alive with everyone eating out in pavement cafes and outdoor terraces. It’s one of things that my mother always raved about on her trips over here and you can see why.

So where’s the best place to eat out on an outdoor terrace? Secret Garden at Razzia

Restaurant Razzia in Seefeld recently underwent a beautiful refurbishment. It still has the lovely giraffe – and its complimented by a lovely new look. What you might not know, is that adjacent to the restaurant is the most beautiful oasis called the “Secret Garden”. This magical place is full of beautiful leafy green plants and shrubs and is the perfect spot for a sunny lunch or a beautiful evening al fresco. The food is delicious and I especially love the sharing plates. Don’t miss the amazing cakes and patisserie by “Patissière des Jahres 2022”, Felicia Ludwig. They are to die for!

Baur Au Lac Terrasse, 8001 Zurich

The beautiful terrace at the Baur au Lac over looking their lovely gardens is a wonderful place to dine or have a drink in Summer. The Terrace has a great menu and when you’re there in Summer don’t forget to check the Art In the Park exhibition. .

Hidden behind Paradeplatz is the lovely Milchbar. As well as great coffee and drinks they also have a lovely menu and as well as outside seating around the little fountain in the middle of this beautiful square, there is also some indoor seating too.

With a fabulous view over Lake Zurich, Seehaus Herrliberg offers a great menu that includes sushi, fish and chips and lots of beautifully prepared specialities. Lobster Club at the Dolder Grand

The Dolder Grand has a wonderful Pop Up Restaurant with a beautiful outdoor terrace called the Lobster Club. Run by star chef Heiko Nieder and his team it is open from now until the end of July, Thursdays to Saturdays from 6pm. It is also open on Sundays from 12 noon to 2pm.
